The key takeaway is that even though every rep might look the same - they are really not. There is so much that the casual eye doesn’t pick up on, so much that requires thought and feedback by the client / patient / athlete.

Everything is based on the individual client: their movement, tolerances, goals and intentions - no regurgitated one-size-fits-all training protocols. This is just one small perspective into the level of technical analysis, assessment and adjustment that you will start to learn on the Resistance Training Specialist course, and it all starts with the foundational elements explored in RTS Level 1.

Rotator Cuff Resistance band Exercise!

Resistance bands offer a low impact solution to exercising and strengthening your shoulders.
Shoulders are the MOST movable joints in the human body, which makes them prone to possible injuries.
Keep the sharing shirt to you
The main three bones: the SCAPULA the CLAVICLE and the HUMERUS comprise the shoulder joint.
Muscles, tendons and ligaments keep your shoulders in a normal (stable) position.
You can perform these shoulder rehab exercises with bands as an addition to your normal training routine or as part of a workout, or a stand-alone dynamic stretching routine before you workout / warm up exercises.
By strengthening the muscles surrounding your shoulder joints you can prehab, rehab and prevent the chances of future injuries.
However, please consult your specialist doctor (NOT the normal doctor!) or physio therapist if you're experiencing the following symptoms.
1.extreme pain and deep aching
signs of swelling
2.difficulty raising your arms over your head
3.difficulty sleeping on your arm after injuring your shoulder

In 2019 I met Dr Mark Slavin. I signed up for a course he was delivering called Resistance Training Specialist, purely on the premise that I knew and respected a couple of industry leaders who swore by it. My relentless pursuit of information to improve how I ply my trade meant it had to be worth a shot. I couldn’t deal with the geek-FOMO of not going.

I was fucking busy as a coach at the time, I rushed in on the first morning at 09:05 to his raised eyebrow having coached 06:00-07:00 & 07:30-08:30. My attendance was just in case, why would I bother being punctual?
He started the intro and said the words force and torque. I sat up in my chair like someone had stuck a hot spear up my ass 😳 This was how I, a mechanical engineer, had always thought about exercise.

Except I only had half the equation (looking back, I feel so thick for not realising it at the time 🤦🏻♂️). I’d never considered the internal factors and forces at play. Actually, I had about a tenth of the equation - there was a tonne I hadn’t considered. Having my mentality 10x-ed over the next 4 days was overwhelming but empowering. I still knew SO LITTLE, but now I at least knew how to think 🤔

I was careful not to fall in love. I’d been wrongly impressed by the first educator I ever met. He had asked me to become a course deliverer for him and I politely declined due to being too busy. Thank fuck 😅 There are a few deceiving (intentionally or not) charlatans out there promoting thoughts, pseudo-science and opinions as facts. One-eyed men in valleys of the blind.

Ironically it was his opinions I cherished the most. The elements of coaching that set someone apart. I deal in science and the literal, but his insane experience brought thought processes I couldn’t possibly have acquired by now. I was my usual inquisitive know-it-all pain in the arse and, bizarrely, he stopped me from leaving at the end of Day 4 and asked me if I’d be interested in becoming an RTS educator 😯

40-Minute Resistance Band Total Body Strength Training
Blast your whole body with this resistance band workout. Resistance band has got to be my favourite piece of fitness equipment as they are super affordable, easy to transport and extremely effective in strengthening the entire body. I travel with my resistance band wherever I go to make sure I get to workout no matter where I am! In this workout, I share with you some of my best and favourite resistance band exercises to target the larger muscles as well as smaller muscles. Plus, this is low impact so it’s suitable for everybody!
Duration: 35 Minutes
Sequence: 45 secs Workout - 15 secs Rest
Total Calories: 300 - 350 Cals
Lower Body
1. Resisted Squat
2. Reverse Lunge Single Arm Press
3. Glute Bridge

Upper Body

Yes, you can strength train at home WITHOUT any weights. We want to use our own body as resistance. This is a 45-Minute Total Body Strength Training Workout. We'll be working on your lower body, upper body and abs!
There will be a total of 4 sets. The aim is to complete 20 reps for each exercise in the 1st set, 15 reps in the 2nd set, 10 reps in the 3rd set and only 5 reps in the final set.
Exercises:
1) Lateral Squat Walk
2) Lunge to Curtsy
3) Narrow to Wide Push-ups
4) Superman Squeeze to Plank
5) Single Leg Lunge
6) Heel Touch Glute Bridge
7) Dolphin Push-up
8) Plank Up-Down
